Gwithian

For classic beach shots, Gwithian beach offers three miles of golden sand at low tide which guarantees plenty of space for your photo shoot. On a calm sunny day, the sea lights up in beautiful shades of blue and green, but even when the sea is rough it creates a dramatic backdrop for wedding photos. The rock pools are a great way to add texture to your images, and the Gwithian sand dunes shouldn’t be overlooked. The light there is incredible and they also allow you to get those elevated shots over the ocean. 

Flushing

If you’re looking for cute cottages, traditional Cornish cobbled streets and pictures of you and your loved one hand on hand on the beach, Flushing has it all. There’s also the option to make use of the quay with views over to the maritime town of Falmouth meaning you can capture a great variety of shots there. We love Flushing any time of year, because it’s sheltered from a lot of the weather and the afternoon and early evening light is sublime. It’s quieter than lots of Cornwall’s other beaches too, making it a great all rounder for wedding photography. 

Chapel Porth

To capture the full drama of the Cornish coast, Chapel Porth has to be top of your list. Turquoise waters meet exquisitely white sand, whilst dramatic cliffs tower from the sea. There are plenty of beautiful caves and the beach is huge at low tide. Chapel Porth is also a hit with Poldark fans, because of the old engine house on top of the cliff, adding a further element of romance. It can be busy in summer, but if you head there in the evening or outside of the main visitor season the shots are otherworldly. 

Helford River

For a softer and more idyllic look, the Helford River could be your dream wedding photography landscape. It’s also famously romantic, providing the setting for Daphne Du Maurier’s book Frenchman’s Creek. Home to a cluster of small coves lined by ancient oak trees, with sailing boats gliding up and down the river, it's as serene as it is pretty. When the seas are big, the shots are even more spectacular, but truth be told there isn’t a day when this part of Cornwall doesn’t look drop dead gorgeous. In the winter it can get a bit windy – but sometimes that adds to the photos.
