Cornwall always seemed like the perfect family holiday.

Our Story

We bought a small holiday lodge on the north coast of Cornwall in 2015. With a 9 year age gap between our 3 children, and a much loved family dog, we discovered this was the one place that made us all very happy!

So much to do come rain or shine, nothing beats standing on a beach staring at the waves to make anything seem possible. We always thought we would move to Cornwall when the kids left home.

We always fancied running something ourselves in Cornwall that combined the best of all these experiences.

Having been lucky enough to stay in some amazing self catering places in Europe and beyond, we always fancied running something ourselves in Cornwall that combined the best of all these experiences. We thought we would wait until our youngest went to Uni, but realised this would mean none of our children would have roots in the South West which seemed like a real shame. So in 2018 we began to think we might just be able to make the idea work sooner rather than later. Our pony mad youngest eventually got on board with the idea and the search for a perfect property began! It was a very, very laborious process. We completely underestimated the trials of househunting 250 miles from home, but after several false starts, just as we were going to give up, we chanced upon Gilly Vean Farm which ticked pretty much every box!

Then the fun really began

So with Adam still commuting to London 2 nights a week, and Andi’s wedding cake business packed up in a spare stable, the work to create our cottage escapes began in earnest in January 2020. We opened in August 2020 after the challenge of building works during a Covid lockdown. Initially we converted the Stables into a 3 bedroomed cottage, and the Barn into a 2 bed. Planning permission for one more cottage was granted in March 2021 and building works will begin in November. We have now converted the Woodshed into a micro gym and wedding venue and our plans are constantly evolving from guest feedback. Come and enjoy 26 acres of peaceful countryside, in the middle of nowhere but not far from anything! Twenty minutes takes you to pretty much all the interesting places in Cornwall (in our opinion anyway!!)

Looking forward to meeting you!
