When: Every Wednesday from 26th November to 22nd December 2025

Head to Cornwall’s capital on a Wednesday evening to soak up the festive atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to browse the high street retailers and local shops for a special treat or to enjoy some festive food and drinks it’s a lovely place to be. The city centre lights will be on and there’s a Christmas market with pop up food stalls on Lemon Quay. Shops are open until 9pm and the main streets will be traffic free all day.

When: Thursday 4th December 

Contribute to a good cause whilst enjoying a night of festive singing in Truro’s impressive three-spired cathedral. You’ll be treated to joyous carols sung by local choirs and sea shanty bands – plus a special reading from presenter and journalist Fern Britton. The event will raise money for Shelterbox, an international humanitarian organisation based in Truro, who provide emergency shelter and aid to those affected by disasters worldwide – altogether making for a fun and purposeful night.

If you’re looking for good vibes and good music, Porthtowan Eco Park’s Tropical Pressure Christmas Party promises to be a standout event. You’ll be treated to tropical-inspired music traversing multiple genres including Afrobeat, Latin, Disco, House, Broken Beat, Cumbia, Samba & Soul. Expect a range of singers, a 10-piece band, followed by bassy beats and a schedule of DJs. This guarantees to be a night full of dancing and the dress code is ‘fungi’.

On your way to or from The Cornish Place, a stop off at the Lost Gardens of Heligan is well worth it. From January to November their spectacular Night Garden displays will be lighting up the 200-acre farm, estate and gardens. Inspired by nature, you can expect larger than life animals, sparkling light tunnels and a whole host of installations which stimulate the senses. Treat yourself to a roasted marshmallow on the firepit and a warming cup of hot chocolate afterwards. There are also various food options around the venue.

When: Every weekend from 8th November to 14th December 

A trip to Healey’s is always a wonderful day out with children, mostly because of the cute farm animals they have there like pigs, goats and peacocks. It just so happens it’s also home to one of Cornwall’s most famous cider manufacturers, providing an added interest to cider-loving parents. During December there is even more appeal, with their Christmas events taking place every weekend from 8th November to 14th December. Including family friendly activities, seasonal storytelling and carol singing there will also be Christmas markets.

When: Saturday 6th to Sunday 7th December 2025 

Make your way to Falmouth for a weekend full of family fun. The town will be decked in lights with street performers throughout, plus carol singing and live music. On Discovery Quay there is plenty to keep children entertained, including Santa’s grotto, an ice skating rink, snowglobe and curling lane. If you’re looking for more, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall is offering free entry all weekend.

When: Various dates throughout December 

Perfect for little ones, head to Trebah Garden for a storytelling experience with Santa Claus. Tickets will include access to one of Cornwall’s best subtropical gardens, where you’ll find Santa in his grotto. Write him a letter and post it directly to the north pole, then enter Santa’s log cabin for a magical 45 minute storytelling experience. Afterwards, children will receive a small gift and have their photo taken. For children who benefit from quieter environments, there are also ‘relaxed Santa sessions’ with less people.

Make your way to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall for 15 galleries and 5 floors of maritime discovery. Sail miniature boats, enjoy views over the harbour from the 100-foot Lookout Tower and watch marine wildlife from the underwater viewing window. In late December to early January there’s also a family-friendly festive museum trail and a series of ‘make and take’ crafting events. Plus, a special interactive Christmas puppet show called Nadelik

The Mousehole Cat at Trelissick

Join local shanty singers Falmouth Shout for an outdoor performance of The Mousehole Cat at Trelissick. One of Cornwall’s best-loved legends, this is the story of the friendship between a cat and a brave fisherman. Afterwards head to the café for a coffee or take a stroll around the gardens. If you’re in the mood for a cosy afternoon and evening, make your way to The Working Boat in Falmouth for a Sunday lunch and pub quiz. The setting is lovely too, with views over the harbour and decent selection of wine and beers. Plus, it’s dog friendly.
